Pro Bono
Law firms are defined by the values they espouse and the clients they serve. From its inception, O'Melveny has channeled the creativity and passion of its lawyers into public interest efforts that benefit the poor and powerless in local communities and society at large.
O'Melveny's p
ro bono program focuses on the issues of the day, the things that are directly impacting the lives of the people in the communities in which we live and work. If you want to know what we are working on, just pick up a newspaper and look at the problems that are at the forefront of the nation's concern—housing, immigration, disaster relief, civil rights, community building. What you read about are the issues to which we are responding.
Our lawyers help to meet the life-saving needs of the under-served in ways that only attorneys can do. From individual eviction proceedings that protect against unjust homelessness to constitutional battles in the US Supreme Court that protect civil rights for the next generation, O'Melveny lawyers are using their legal skills to preserve the democratic rights of those who otherwise would have no voice, whose access to justice would be just a dream without us.
At O'Melveny we do not differentiate between our
pro bono representation of a struggling indigent family and our representation of a long-time corporate client. We believe that all of our clients deserve fairness, justice and the best effort we can give them.
