Our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to succeed as a lawyer in an environment that has been described as an "exceptional place to practice."  We have one of the most innovative talent development programs in the country and we are committed to providing summer associates with a realistic view of what it's like to practice law.  After working with the Firm's partners on serious assignments for real clients, you will appreciate that being a lawyer is hard work, but we anticipate you will also discover it is one of the most rewarding careers you can choose.

Our lawyers are consistently described as "genuinely friendly," "collegial," and "interesting."  This is no accident.  We make a concerted effort to recruit well-rounded individuals who have lives outside the office.

Each office sponsors a variety of social events to create camaraderie among our summer associates and to give them an opportunity to get to know other lawyers outside the office setting.  Our 2007 summer associate class participated in many events including baseball games, golf outings, wine tasting seminars, cooking classes, dinners at partners' homes, concerts, museum trips, and overnight retreats, to name a few.  Some of the highlights included a private tour of the US Supreme Court, surfing lessons, rock climbing, a softball game at Shea Stadium, a trip to Yosemite, a two-night stay at the La Quinta resort in Palm Desert, and a river rafting excursion.
